Overview

The Infrastructure Budget API allows you to:
  • Create Budgets - Set up budgets for overall infrastructure, specific cloud providers, or environments
  • Track Spending - Monitor spending against budgets with detailed breakdowns
  • Set Alerts - Configure alert and critical thresholds for budget notifications
  • Manage Budgets - Update, pause, or delete budgets as needed
  • Record Manual Spending - Track spending for infrastructure created outside WISTX

Budget Scope Types

Budgets can be scoped to:
  • Overall - Track all infrastructure spending
  • Cloud Provider - Track spending for a specific cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Environment - Track spending for a specific environment (dev, stage, prod)

Enforcement Modes

  • Alert - Send alerts when thresholds are reached (default)
  • Warn - Send warnings but allow spending
  • Block - Block new infrastructure creation when budget is exceeded
  • Cost Search - Search infrastructure pricing data
  • Alerts - Manage budget alerts and preferences
